1. What is your full name? Did you have a nickname?

My full name is Barbara May Sheldon Cameron, but everyone calls me Barb.


2. When and where were you born?

I was born on April 12 1944 in London, England.


3. Were there any special items in the house that you remember?

A tea set of my mothers. It was made of china and had tiny red roses hand painted on it. I loved that tea set. She used to call me ‘Her little garden Rose’ because of it.


4. What was your religion growing up?

I am Jewish. My fathers’ family England after the first Great War. They were German Jews who owned a factory. My maternal grandfather got my paternal grandfather a job at his factory. That is how my parents met. It was very important to both of my parents that I was raised Jewish.


5. Describe a typical family dinner.

Present day? It’s just Charles and myself. I haven’t met the family yet.


6. What was your profession and how did you choose it?

I was a teacher for many, many years. I taught elementary school education. I moved out here because I wanted a better, higher paying job. My parents fully supported my move.
